At just 20 years old, the words flowing from the pen of young poet Chandrasekhar are roaring against social injustices. Born into an agricultural family in Shirpi village, Beluguppa Mandal of Anantapur district, Shirpi Chandrasekhar has rapidly emerged as a top-tier youth poet, taking the district's fame to a national level.
Cultivating Letters Since Student Life
Chandrasekhar developed a passion for literature while studying in the tenth grade at Zilla Parishad High School, Venkatadripalli. Encouraged by his mentor, Kothapalli Suresh (Aksharamali), he took steps toward progressive ideologies. Having recently completed his degree at the historic Mrs. A.V.N. College in Visakhapatnam, it is noteworthy that he authored five prominent books while still a student.
Prominent Works
Matti Rekkala Chandamama: He surprised everyone by releasing this poetry collection while in the eighth grade.
Kalutunna Vennela: He released his second book as an Intermediate student.
Gontu Tegina Aksharam: A collection written during his first year of degree, reflecting societal issues.
Ratikannu: A poetry anthology featuring a deep analysis of the problems in the Rayalaseema region.
Akupachani Duhkham: An upcoming book based on the backdrop of North Andhra.
A Harvest of Awards
Recognizing his talent, the government and various literary organizations have honored him with several awards:
First Place at the Central Government's Yuva Utsav - Young Writers Camp in Visakhapatnam.
The Chintoju Brahmaiah and Pendota Venkateswarlu Children's Literature Awards.
The Nizam Venkatesam Literary Award.
Appreciation honors from the Konireddy Foundation and Chaduvula Sahitya Vedika.
As a Social Activist
Beyond being a poet, he is encouraging hundreds of new poets as the editor of the 'Dega' online monthly magazine. He also founded an organization called 'Youth Orbit', conducting numerous programs to instill social responsibility among the youth.
His Goal
"I am using my poetry as a weapon to propagate truth in society and to increase responsibility in every citizen. I will continue my literary struggle for social awareness until my last breath," Chandrasekhar stated confidently. Villagers and literary enthusiasts expressed their joy at the determination of Chandrasekhar, the son of Saraswati and Shivashankar.
