National Flag Fails to Fly at Anganwadi Center: Gross Negligence During Republic Day Celebrations

BOMMANAHAL (Anantapur District): While the entire nation celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervor, a glaring instance of negligence came to light in Kothapalli village of Bommanahal Mandal. The National Flag was not hoisted at the local Anganwadi center, falling under the Kanekal ICDS Project limits.

Silence Amidst Celebrations

On Monday morning, as per government protocols, officials across all departments hoisted the tricolor at government offices, schools, and various Anganwadi centers. However, the Anganwadi center in Kothapalli remained an exception. The premises wore a deserted look, with the flag pole remaining bare throughout the day.

Public Outcry and Demand for Action

The absence of the Anganwadi teacher and the failure to organize the mandatory flag-hoisting ceremony have sparked outrage among the villagers. Locals are questioning the lack of accountability and the apparent disrespect toward a national occasion of such significance.

The local community is now looking toward the higher authorities of the ICDS and the district administration to see what disciplinary action will be taken against the Anganwadi worker responsible for this lapse.

Key Highlights:

 * Incident: Failure to hoist the National Flag on Republic Day.

 * Location: Kothapalli Anganwadi Center, Darga Honnuru Panchayat, Bommanahal Mandal.

 * Status: Villagers demand a formal inquiry into the negligence of the assigned staff.
