The 163rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, observed as National Youth Day, was celebrated with great fervor today. Swami Vivekananda, a global spiritual leader and the ultimate icon for Indian youth, was remembered for his transformative teachings.
During the event, keynote speakers Ukkisula Gopal and Niranjan Goud offered floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and addressed the gathering.
"Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached": Ukkisula Gopal
Speaking on the occasion, Ukkisula Gopal emphasized that Vivekananda's famous clarion call—"Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached"—is not just a slogan but a spark that should ignite the heart of every young person. He urged today's youth to abandon laziness, embrace self-confidence to realize their dreams, and actively participate in the nation’s development.
"Youth are the Backbone of the Nation": Niranjan Goud
Co-speaker Niranjan Goud stated that India possesses the greatest youth power in the world. He remarked that the India Swami Vivekananda envisioned can only be built when this energy is channeled in the right direction. He encouraged the youth to achieve the impossible through discipline and persistent hard work.
Distinguished Participants
The program saw active participation from local leaders and prominent individuals, including Mandasu Obulesu, Mopidi Chandra, Teacher Chandra Shekhar, Bhimalinga, Venkatesulu, Anil, and Nagamalli Anand. A large number of local youth and citizens attended the event to honor and recall the invaluable services of Swami Vivekananda to humanity.
