The festivities have begun amidst immense devotion from the large congregation of devotees. These celebrations, a beacon of communal harmony, attract lakhs of pilgrims from far and wide.
✨ Key Urs Sharif Details (December 2025)
The Urs Sharif ceremonies will take place over three main days. The celebrations are conducted under the supervision of the current Sajjada Nasheen (Head Priest), Hazrat Syed Sharif Baba Khader Mohiyuddin Qadri.

History of Penukonda Babayya Swami (Baba Fakhruddin)
The Penukonda Dargah is considered one of the most sacred places of worship in South India. It is dedicated to Hazrat Baba Fakhruddin, a great Sufi Saint who lived in the 12th century.
Background: Baba Fakhruddin was originally a prince from Iran. He left his kingdom out of repentance and followed the spiritual path under the guidance of his guru, Sattehar Tabre Alam Badshah.
Dargah Foundation: Following his guru's instructions, he arrived in Penukonda carrying only a Neem stick, where the Dargah was established.
Pilgrims: Devotees attend the Urs from all over India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, as well as from international locations such as Kerala, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Cultural Programs: Qawwali Performances
As part of the Urs celebrations, popular Qawwali performances are scheduled every night starting from 9:00 PM.
Featured Artists: Famous Qawwali artists including Aslam Akram Sabri, Muhammad Akram Sabri (Jaipur), and Jameer Sehada Kamalak (Kamalapur) will perform to entertain and inspire the devotees.
Closing Ceremonies: The festivities conclude on December 5th and 6th with special processions, including the Sham Dola March from Delhi Shukarwaz and the Savari Dola of the Sajjada Baba Khader Mohiyuddin Qadri.
The Dargah committee has informed that all necessary arrangements and security measures have been completed for the lakhs of devotees expected to attend the Urs.
