The title of Sanatana Datta Bandhu has been conferred upon Maccha Ramalingareddy, a social worker, journalist, activist leader, and the actor who portrayed Shirdi Sai Baba in the film Pratyaksha Daivam Shirdi Sai, as well as a cricketer, hailing from the Anantapur district.
This award recognizes Maccha Ramalingareddy's dedicated services over the past 30 years in the fields of sports and journalism, as well as his contributions to the Datta Peetham in the spiritual domain.
On the occasion of Datta Jayanti, 21 individuals from various fields across the country were selected for the Sanatana Datta Bandhu title by the Mysuru Datta Peetham. As part of this, the awards were presented on Thursday at the ashram of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, located on Nanjangud Road in Mysuru, Karnataka state.
Maccha Ramalingareddy, who was selected for the Sanatana Datta Bandhu title in the media sector, received the award from the hands of the Datta Peethadhipathi, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji.
Maccha Ramalingareddy was presented with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh along with a memento. The Swamijis blessed Maccha Ramalingareddy on this occasion, encouraging him to continue offering greater services in the fields of sports and media in the future.
