President Murmu and CM Chandrababu Attend

Puttaparthi/Anantapur: The centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba were conducted with great grandeur at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu participated as the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, the President and the CM visited the ‘Sathya Sai Mahasamadhi’ and paid rich tributes to Baba.

Universal Welfare was Baba’s Goal: President

Addressing the gathering, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the critical need for Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings in today's society. "Baba stands foremost among the great souls who believed that ‘Service to Humanity is Service to Divinity’ (Manava Seva is Madhava Seva). He strove for universal welfare through the paths of Truth, Righteousness (Dharma), Peace, and Love. He prioritized women's welfare as early as 1969," she noted. The President lauded the Sathya Sai Central Trust’s efforts in the fields of education, healthcare, and drinking water, as well as their role in nation-building, terming it praiseworthy. On this occasion, she inaugurated the ‘Sathya Sai Tribal Women Healthcare’ program.

Baba’s Principles are the Path to World Peace: CM Chandrababu

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that Baba’s philosophy of "Love All, Serve All" serves as the foundation for world peace. "I have had an association with Baba spanning decades. In the past, for the drinking water project in the combined Anantapur district, Baba declared that he was even ready to mortgage Prasanthi Nilayam if necessary. It was because of his magnanimity that devotees contributed massive donations to make the project a success," he recalled. The CM praised the expansion of the Trust's services across 140 countries with over 7.50 lakh volunteers as truly remarkable.

Earlier, upon her arrival at the Sathya Sai Airport, the President received a grand welcome from the Governor, CM Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh, and other high-ranking officials. Ministers, MLAs, Trust members, and thousands of devotees from India and abroad participated in the celebrations.
