A surface trough is currently extending from north coastal Andhra Pradesh across interior Odisha and south Chhattisgarh up to east Telangana, according to the latest weather reports. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation is observed over the southwest Bay of Bengal and along the Tamil Nadu coast, influencing the weather patterns across southern India.
Another trough extends from the southwest Bay of Bengal across Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, and south interior Karnataka up to the coastal Karnataka region. Under the combined influence of these weather systems, several parts of Andhra Pradesh are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall today.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the coastal and interior districts may witness occasional spells of rain, accompanied by gusty winds. Wind speeds are likely to range between 30 to 40 kilometres per hour, particularly in coastal and nearby inland areas.
Farmers and fishermen have been advised to remain alert, as sudden changes in wind speed and rainfall intensity could affect agricultural activities and sea conditions. The IMD has also suggested avoiding venturing into the sea during high wind periods.
Overall, the prevailing troughs and cyclonic circulation are expected to keep the weather cloudy and humid across the state for the next 24 hours, with moderate showers likely in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and parts of East Godavari districts.
