BJP Tribal Morcha Demands Satya Sai Health University in Uravakonda

Uravakonda, October 21: The State Vice President of the BJP Tribal Morcha, Moodu Keshava Naik, has demanded the establishment of a Medical University or Medical College in memory of the spiritual leader and Avatar, Sri Satya Sai Baba, in Uravakonda, the holy place where he received his education and made his declaration of Avatarhood.

Speaking to the media in Uravakonda town, Keshava Naik recalled that Baba studied at the Sri Karibasava Swamy Government High School there, grew up as a student of the region, and gained international fame. However, he expressed concern that Uravakonda was not given the same priority as Puttaparthi, his birthplace, and that the region had not received any "return gift" from him.

Benefit for Poor Students

Need for a Medical University: Keshava Naik urged the Satya Sai Trust to immediately recognize this historical significance and take steps to establish a Medical University in Uravakonda.

Social Benefit: He stated that the establishment of a Medical College would greatly benefit students from weaker sections, such as SC, ST, BC, and minorities.

Concern over Privatization: He expressed concern that the privatization of Medical Colleges by governments is making medical education inaccessible to poor students, and therefore requested the Trust to come forward.

Moodu Keshava Naik expressed hope that by establishing a Medical College or University that would be helpful to the residents of the area where Baba studied and declared his Avatarhood, the Trust could further immortalize its name, as Baba gave the highest priority to education and healthcare.
