BJP Leader Intervenes Over Squalor Near Eswaramma Temple

Panchayat Unresponsive: Debris Cleared with JCB

Uravakonda: Mana Jana Pragati, October 21:

The surroundings of the Eswaramma Temple in Uravakonda town have fallen into a severe state of disrepair. The sanctity of the temple is being compromised by accumulated garbage, sewage, and overgrown weeds everywhere. Locals expressed intense anger as Gram Panchayat officials repeatedly failed to act despite numerous complaints.

Following this negligence, local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Daggupati Sriram personally stepped in. He arranged for a JCB (earthmover) to be deployed for cleaning the temple vicinity and personally oversaw the sanitation drive. Under his supervision, garbage heaps, damaged roads, and choked drainage canals were cleared.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader Daggupati Sriram commented, "Such action is mandatory for the sake of public health and the purity of the temple. If officials are negligent, it is the responsibility of leaders in a democracy to step forward on behalf of the people."

Locals strongly criticized the negligence of the Panchayat officials. They lamented, "The situation became so terrible because officials ignored our complaints every time," and commended the leader who organized the cleanliness drive. They also recalled that he had previously intervened to repair the Nagula Katta (snake altar) when similar conditions arose.

The residents demanded that the officials immediately take responsibility and focus on the maintenance of the temple surroundings.
