The general body meeting of the Vajrakarur Mandal Farmers' Association took place at the mandal headquarters. The District Vice President of the Farmers' Association, G.V. Rupakshi, attended the event as the chief guest. On this occasion, discussions were held on the problems faced by the farmers in the mandal.
It was primarily discussed that the central and state governments are causing great injustice to farmers by failing to provide a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their cultivated crops. Furthermore, the governments' orders to hand over farmers' lands to corporates under the guise of "solar projects" in the district and mandal is a severe injustice to the farmers, which will cause them significant difficulties.
The association demanded that the government complete the tributary canals from the Handri-Neeva project to provide irrigation water to every acre in the mandal, provide MSP for the cultivated crops, and thus support the farmers.
Subsequently, the new mandal committee of the Farmers' Association was selected:
President: Obulapathi
General Secretary: Chabala Sudhakar
Committee Members: Chinna Peddanna, Laxmaiah, Rangaiah, and Ma Bhasha
They were all unanimously elected. Navabi Rasool, CITU leader Sudhakar, and several farmers participated in the program.
