On Thursday the 29th of this month every member of the Gangaputra community across the district is urged to worship and remember Bhishma Pitamaha in their homes Bhishma Pitamaha was the son of Ganga the patriarch of the Kuru clan a personification of sacrifice a terror to his enemies and the foundational figure of the Mahabharata.
The leaders of all constituency town and mandal level Besta Seva Sangham committees must take the responsibility to ensure that Bhishma Ekadashi is celebrated in a festive atmosphere across every village and town Furthermore the organizers should ensure that these programs receive wide media coverage to grab the government's attention and pressure them to declare Bhishma Ekadashi a State Festival.
On the same day Thursday January 29 at 10 AM a special program involving the decoration of Bhishma Pitamaha’s statue with garlands and a formal puja will be held at the Gangaputra Community Hall in Anantapur city under the auspices of the Besta Seva Sangham District Committee We request every man and woman of the Gangaputra community in Anantapur town to attend this event and receive the blessings of Bhishma Pitamaha.
