On the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a grand statue was unveiled in Andhra Pradesh's capital, Amaravati.

1. The First Statue in Amaravati
Significantly, this is the very first statue to be installed in the capital city of Amaravati. It is located near Venkatapalem, adjacent to the Seed Access Road.
2. Statue and Smriti Vanam
* The Statue: A massive 14-foot bronze statue has been installed at the site.
* Atal Smriti Vanam: A beautiful park named 'Atal Smriti Vanam' has been developed across 2.5 acres surrounding the statue. The park includes museum-style exhibits detailing Vajpayee’s life history and his core ideologies.
3. Dignitaries in Attendance
The statue was jointly unveiled by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The ceremony saw participation from Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, BJP State President P.V.N. Madhav, various state ministers, and leaders of the NDA alliance.
4. Conclusion of the 'Su-Prashasan' Yatra
The event marked the culmination of the "Atal-Modi Good Governance Yatra" (Su-Prashasan Yatra), which had been held across the state since December 11. The Yatra was organized with the goal of installing Vajpayee’s statues in every district headquarters across the state.

The tribute honors Vajpayee as a symbol of good governance. Leaders recalled his immense contribution to the development of National Highways (Golden Quadrilateral) and rural roads in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh during his tenure as Prime Minister.
