Orphaned Migrant Worker Passes Away: Burial Committee Steps in to Help

Uravakonda: In a touching display of humanity, the local Khabarsthan (Burial) Committee stepped forward to perform the last rites of an elderly migrant worker who passed away in poverty.

Demise Due to Illness

Abdullah (65), a native of Kothacheruvu village in Sri Sathya Sai district, had migrated to Uravakonda in search of a livelihood. Living in Shivarami Reddy Colony on the outskirts of the town, he earned a living doing odd jobs. Unfortunately, Abdullah, who had been struggling with health issues for some time, passed away on Friday night. He is survived by a son and two daughters.

A Helping Hand in Times of Grief

Given the family’s dire financial situation, the children found it difficult to afford the expenses for their father's funeral. Seeking help, Jamil (Furniture Shop) and Lenin Babu brought the matter to the attention of the local Khabarsthan Committee.

The committee responded immediately, taking full responsibility for the arrangements. They ensured that the funeral was conducted with dignity according to Islamic traditions.

Participants

The funeral rites were overseen by Khabarsthan Committee President P.G.S. Maabu. Committee members Fakruddin, Yunus, Piru Saab, Abu Saleha, along with R.M.P. Sharmas, Carpenter Anwar, and others, participated in the final rites. Local residents appreciated the committee for their timely support to the grieving migrant family.
