K.V. Ramana, State Vice President of the Forum for the Development of Backward Regions, Makes Sensational Remarks on Constitution Day
November 26, Tirupati: On the occasion of the 76th Constitution Day today, Sri K.V. Ramana, State Vice President of the Forum for the Development of Backward Regions, made scathing remarks, stating that poverty in the country is not natural but entirely an artificial creation. He expressed anguish that poverty is confined only to the Bahujan (majority) community. He asserted that the current ruling system works only for the dominance of the wealthy, and the freedom and equality guaranteed by the Constitution are not reaching the Bahujans.
Poverty is Artificial: The Agenda of the Wealthy Classes
"When governments, private, corporate, and capitalist systems are nurtured and patronized, what else is poverty but artificial?" Ramana questioned. He alleged that the current system is run only by the wealthy, for the wealthy.
* Allegations against the Political System: He criticized that since the ruling and opposition parties in the Centre and States are controlled by the upper-caste, elite, and rich communities, they continuously work only for the benefit of the wealthy.
* Constitutional Violation: He stated that the history of the last 78 years shows that all governments formed since Independence disregarded the fundamental principles of democracy, freedom, equality, fraternity, and secularism granted by the Indian Constitution. This is why reservations in education and employment have not been properly implemented.
Foundations of Exploitation: Varna System and Caste
Ramana opined that the dominance and exploitation prevalent in our country for thousands of years have their foundations in the Varna system, Manusmriti, and the Caste system.
"No matter how many flags the ruling castes hold, their agenda is always exploitation," he remarked. He lamented that in this dominant society, the Bahujans are not recognized as human beings, nor do they have a share in power or the nation's wealth.
* Deprivation: Ramana stated that Bahujans are denied education and healthcare, are not given Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the crops they cultivate, and have only responsibilities, not rights.
* Mental Slavery: He expressed that the Bahujans are kept as permanent slaves, without food, shelter, or clothing, and are continuously fed with superstition, being treated as cattle in human form.
Root Cause of Problems are Upper-Caste Arrogants
Citing history, he asserted that the root cause of all problems in the country are the arrogant forces of the upper castes.
* Divisive Forces: He alleged that the creators of communalism, casteism, extremism, terrorism, and regionalism are these same arrogant upper-caste forces. He claimed they are the ones who create and propagate all the 'isms' in India.
* Privatization Strategy: Ramana explicitly stated that they are privatizing education to turn the poor into "uncivilized cattle without education," and privatizing Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to eliminate jobs for the Bahujan society.
* Farmers' Plight: He noted that it is this group, which constitutes only 3 percent of the population, that ensures working farmers do not get profitable prices, denying them food, shelter, clothing, and dignity, effectively turning the 97 percent Bahujans into mental slaves.
The Solution: Struggle in the Path of Phule and Ambedkar
K.V. Ramana called for a struggle to liberate the Bahujans from this slavery, following the path of great personalities like Buddha, Kabir, Sahu, Periyar, Jyotiba Phule, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Kanshi Ram.
He expressed confidence that only through the philosophies of Phule and Ambedkar can the Bahujans, who are the sons of the soil, become the rulers of this country and the owners of the national wealth. He concluded that only through this struggle will the Bahujans achieve political power (Rajyadhikaram), poverty will be eradicated, equality will be established, and all regions will develop equally.
