National Press Day Greetings: Malapati Srinivasulu

Heartfelt congratulations and greetings on the occasion of National Press Day to all journalists who, with unwavering dedication and commitment, take the burden of public issues upon their shoulders and constantly bring them to the notice of officials, people's representatives, and the government.

National Press Day is celebrated every year on November 16th in India. The Press Council of India was established on November 16, 1966, based on the recommendation of the First Press Commission of India in 1956. Since then, this day has been celebrated to recognize the importance of press freedom and to promote high standards in journalism.

The Objective of the Press Council of India:

ts main objective is to ensure that newspapers adhere to the highest standards, without being influenced by the likes and dislikes of people in power or systems, and to safeguard the freedom of the press.

It serves as a platform to discuss the challenges and problems faced by the press sector.

This Council also has the power to exercise its authority over government departments.
