Mahatma Phule's Ideals are an Inspiration to Today's Youth: Malapati Srinivasulu

Social activist Malapati Srinivasulu lauded Mahatma Jyotirao Phule as the great visionary who proved that educating the oppressed and women was the true revolution during a time when inequality and ignorance were rampant in Indian society. Speaking at a meeting, he recalled Phule's ideals.

💡 Education and Reform were Phule's Goals

Malapati Srinivasulu stated, "Phule was not just an educationist, he was a great social reformer. When rigid restrictions prevented girls from attending school, he bravely stepped forward. In 1848, he established the first school for girls in the country, along with his wife Savitribai Phule. This was a revolutionary act."

"Phule strongly believed that freedom would not reach the downtrodden unless they received education. Therefore, he strived until his last breath with the aspiration that everyone, irrespective of caste or religion, should be educated," he remarked.

✊ Social Justice Through Satyashodhak Samaj

Elaborating on the significance of the 'Satyashodhak Samaj' (Society of Truth Seekers) founded by Phule, Srinivasulu said, "Established by Phule in 1873, this society boldly questioned traditional authority and the caste system. It fought for social justice and equality for non-Brahmin communities."

"He not only fought against social ills like untouchability and caste discrimination but also established shelters for widows and provided them with humanitarian aid. The title 'Mahatma' given to him by the people in recognition of his service is the true honour for his dedication. The path shown by Mahatma Jyotirao Phule is an inspiration to today's youth and everyone fighting for equality," Malapati Srinivasulu concluded his address.
