Library Movement Pioneers' Services are Everlasting!

Uravakonda:The 58th National Library Week celebrations, being held at the Uravakonda Branch Library, reached their third day on Wednesday (November 16, 2025). On this occasion, the services rendered by the prominent figures who played a crucial role in the Library Movement were commemorated.

Rich Tributes Paid to Movement Leaders

Rich tributes were paid to the pioneers of the Library Movement—Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, Ayyanki Venkata Ramanayya, and Gadicherla Hari Sarvottama Rao—by garlanding their portraits. Library Officer Prathapa Reddy explained the invaluable services and sacrifices made by these great personalities to the Library Movement, addressing the students and readers.

 Libraries are the temples of knowledge. Everyone must utilize the libraries, enhance their knowledge, and move forward on the path of development," appealed Prathapa Reddy

Address by Chief Guests

Mr. Lakshminarayana, President of the Uravakonda Lions Club, who attended the event as the Chief Guest, praised the Library Movement activists, stating that their services to society are everlasting. Following him, teachers Gopal, Palakshi, Srinivasulu, and Lenin Babu, among others, elaborated on the efforts and ideals of the movement's leaders.

The inspiring program saw the participation of high school students, library readers, and the general public.
