Mylarampalli Shiva Temple Land Encroachment: Half Acre Under Road Guise, One and a Half Acres Previously Occupied

Uravakonda, October 11: Allegations are rampant that land belonging to the Shiva Temple in Mylarampalli village, Koukuntla panchayat, Uravakonda mandal, is being encroached upon. Previously, one and a half acres were encroached, and now another half acre has been occupied under the guise of road construction, according to villagers and religious activists.

Details are as follows:

While the Shiva Temple owns 8.04 acres of land, villagers claim that a farmer named Vadde Lingamayya, who purchased submerged land adjacent to the temple property, illegally occupied half an acre of temple land under the pretext of building a road. Images show that machinery like a JCB was used for this encroachment. Additionally, devotees allege that another farmer, Pinjari Swamy, had previously encroached upon one and a half acres of Shiva Temple land.

Allegations of Negligence Against EO:

Locals and devotees have filed a complaint with the Executive Officer (EO) of the group of temples, Vijay Kumar, regarding the encroachment of the Shiva Temple land. They demanded a thorough investigation and anti-encroachment measures. However, devotees are expressing dismay, stating that EO Vijay Kumar is procrastinating on the matter and showing negligence in taking action.

Ready to Bring to Minister's Attention:

Consequently, some religious activists and farmers are expressing strong displeasure and are reportedly preparing to bring the issue to the attention of Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav. They are demanding that the government protect temple lands from illegal occupation. Devotees are chanting "Om Namah Shivaya" in distress over the Shiva Temple land vanishing like camphor.
