Kurnool: The Kurnool High Court Sadhana Samithi, which is working towards achieving a High Court Bench for Rayalaseema, held an emergency meeting on Saturday, 18-10-2025, at 5:00 PM at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan, Rajavihar Centre in Kurnool. Key issues were discussed, and a future action plan was formulated at this meeting.
Thanks to the Chief Minister and Minister Lokesh
The first item on the agenda was to express happiness over the recent announcement made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh that they would grant an Andhra Pradesh High Court Bench to the Kurnool region of Rayalaseema. This announcement was made during the visit of the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to Kurnool on 16-10-2025. The Samithi passed a resolution conveying their thanks and gratitude to both leaders for their assurance, and this was recorded in the register.
Demand for Allocation of ₹600 Crores
Subsequently, the Samithi strongly demanded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Lokesh Babu should not delay the matter of the High Court Bench and should immediately allocate funds for the construction of a permanent building for the Andhra High Court Bench in Rayalaseema-Kurnool. The Samithi resolved to demand an immediate allocation of ₹600 crore rupees for this purpose, urging the leaders to honour their promise, which has been given for the fifth time. This demand was also recorded in the Samithi's register.
3-Month Deadline for the Coalition Government
The Samithi resolved to give the Andhra Pradesh Coalition Government a three-month period to establish the Andhra High Court Bench in Kurnool. It was made clear that the process for establishing the Bench must commence within these three months.
'Chalo Amaravati' for Pressure
To exert greater pressure on the Coalition Government and to ensure that the High Court Bench establishment process happens quickly, it was decided to organise a 'Chalo Amaravati' program. A resolution was passed and recorded in the register to travel to Amaravati in the Central-South Coastal Andhra region to stage a protest.
'Chalo Delhi' if the Promise is Broken
It was resolved that if the Coalition Government fails to fulfil its promise or goes back on its word, the next course of action will be the 'Chalo Delhi' program. The Kurnool High Court Sadhana Samithi will stage a 'Dharna' (protest) at the Dharna Chowk near Jantar Mantar in Delhi to bring the perceived betrayal by the Andhra Pradesh Coalition Government towards
Rayalaseema to the attention of the Central Government. This matter was also resolved and recorded in the Samithi's register.
Appeal to All Members
The Samithi welcomed members to frankly express their opinions on all these important matters. Therefore, Senior Advocate Krishna Murthy, a member of the Samithi, appealed to all members of the Kurnool High Court Sadhana Samithi to compulsorily attend the meeting at 5:00 PM today at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan in the Rajavihar Centre, Kurnool
