A tragic accident claimed the life of a farmer in Sambeppalli mandal on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nallapothula Janardhan (45), a resident of Adivikammapalli village near Shettipalli.
According to local sources, Janardhan was ploughing his field with his tractor when the mishap occurred. While repairing the tiller (miller) attached to the tractor, the vehicle suddenly moved forward. Janardhan was caught underneath the implement and sustained severe injuries.
Family members and nearby farmers rushed to the spot upon hearing his cries. They immediately shifted him to the Roya Cheruvu Government Hospital, but doctors there declared him brought dead.
The untimely death of Janardhan, known as a hardworking farmer in the region, cast a pall of gloom over the entire village. Relatives and villagers expressed deep sorrow and demanded that the government provide financial assistance to the bereaved family.
Upon receiving information, Sambeppalli police reached the site and examined the scene of the accident. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine whether the mishap resulted from a technical failure or negligence during the repair work.
Authorities have urged farmers to take extra precautions while operating agricultural machinery, especially during maintenance, to avoid such unfortunate incidents in the future.
