Crime Rates Drop by 26% in Uravakonda Circle: CI Mahanandi’s Proactive Policing Yields Results

URAVAKONDA | True Times India | December 31: In a significant achievement for local law enforcement, crime rates in the Uravakonda Police Circle have witnessed a substantial decline of 26% compared to previous years. Officials attribute this success to the strategic crime prevention measures and the diligent administration of Circle Inspector (CI) Mahanandi since he assumed charge.

Doubling Down on Responsibility

Despite facing a shortage of personnel within the circle, CI Mahanandi has been effectively managing dual responsibilities.

Managing Vacancies: Following the retirement of Rural CI Chinna Ghouse, the post has remained vacant. Consequently, Urban CI Mahanandi has stepped up to shoulder the additional responsibility of the Rural Circle.

Streamlined Supervision: He has been pivotal in coordinating between two stations, ensuring that law and order, case investigations, and staff management remain seamless despite the increased workload.

A People-Centric Officer

CI Mahanandi has earned a reputation not just as a disciplined officer, but as a "People’s Officer" due to his approachable nature.

Positive Public Grievance Redressal: Known for his soft-spoken and patient demeanor, he is recognized for listening to complainants attentively and ensuring speedy resolution of their issues.

Staff Morale: He maintains a cordial relationship with his subordinates, motivating the force to perform optimally even under pressure and resource constraints.

Community Trust: His ability to engage with all sections of society has garnered widespread appreciation from the local community.

Strategic Focus on Crime Prevention

The 26% reduction in crime is credited to a series of innovative measures, including intensified night patrolling and strict surveillance on habitual offenders. Local residents have lauded his initiative, noting that despite the staff crunch, there have been no delays in investigations or public service.
