Grand Celebration of Birsa Munda's 150th Birth Anniversary
Tributes Paid by Planting Saplings under the Aegis of Global Green Revolution
The 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Sri Birsa Munda, the Indian freedom fighter and revered deity of tribal communities, was celebrated grandly across the state. As part of the celebrations, a special program was organized at the Saamasang Maharaj Temple premises in Roopa Naik Tanda under the supervision of the Global Green Revolution.
Social workers, farmers, and tribal elders gathered in large numbers to plant saplings and pay rich tributes to Birsa Munda.
Speech on Birsa Munda's Struggle
Kamal Singh Rathod, Chairman of the Banjara Foundation, attended the event as the chief guest and delivered a speech. He elaborated on Birsa Munda's sacrifices and struggles:
* Against Exploitation: Birsa Munda strongly opposed the British colonial rule, the Zamindari system, and British atrocities against the tribals, igniting the spirit of revolt among the people.
* Rejuvenation: He continuously strived for the social, economic, and spiritual rejuvenation of the tribal communities.
Appeal to Governments
Recognizing Birsa Munda's contributions to the tribal community, Kamal Singh Rathod appealed to both the Central and State governments:
* Central Effort: He appreciated the efforts of the Central Government in advancing tribal villages on the path of development.
* State Responsibility: He urged the State Government to identify tribal villages and provide education, healthcare, and other basic infrastructure in those areas.
* Employment Opportunities: He demanded that through schemes like NABARD and MSME, self-employment opportunities should be provided to tribal youth.
Tribute Through Green Revolution
On the occasion of Birsa Munda's birth anniversary, 200 saplings were planted in the premises under the joint auspices of the Global Green Revolution and the Saaniksha Foundation. This act of environmental conservation served as a tribute to Birsa Munda's ideals. Even the elderly enthusiastically participated in planting the saplings.
