Demand for deciplinary action against Chittoor dist collecter

 CPI National Secretary K. Ramakrishna Files Complaint Against Chittoor Collector over Alleged Misbehavior with Media
Amaravathi/Chittoor, : CPI National Secretary and former MLA, K. Ramakrishna, raised serious objections against Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar (IAS), accusing him of misbehaving with reporters from the Visalaandhra newspaper. He formally submitted a written complaint to the Chief Secretary (CS) to the Government, K. Vijayanand, on Friday regarding the incident.

 Key Highlights of the Complaint

The complaint alleges that Chittoor Collector Sumit Kumar spoke to the Visalaandhra reporters in an objectionable and rude manner. K. Ramakrishna stated that it is unacceptable for a high-ranking official like the Collector in a democratic system to speak to media representatives in an irresponsible and arrogant manner.

  Undermining Media Freedom: The Collector's attitude was described as an attempt to suppress press freedom, and the complaint noted that the Collector disrespected the media, which acts as a bridge between the government and the public.

  Demand for Disciplinary Action: The CPI leader strongly urged the CS to take immediate disciplinary action against Collector Sumit Kumar and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

 Delegation that Filed the Complaint

The delegation that met the Chief Secretary included K. Ramakrishna, along with Manohar Naidu, Deputy General Manager of Visalaandhra, and Bala Kashi, State Secretary of AITUC. They also expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the Collector's conduct.

Journalists Demand Inquiry and Action

Separately, a joint statement was released by senior journalists from Uravakonda, including Malapati Srinivasulu, D. Bala Chandra Naidu, Meenuga Madhu Babu, and Bala Raju.

  They demanded that Chief Secretary Vijayanand conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the incident and initiate disciplinary action against the Collector.
