Preparations in Full Swing for Kanakadasa Statue Inauguration at Kalyandurg

In Kalyandurg constituency, arrangements are in full swing for the grand inauguration of the Bhakta Kanakadasa statue being installed on the Kambaduru Ring Road. The event is scheduled to take place on November 8, coinciding with Kanakadasa Jayanti celebrations organized by the State Government.

Local MLA Amilineni Surendra Babu announced that the inauguration will be held on the same day in a grand manner. He stated that plans are being made to invite Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu or Education Minister Nara Lokesh as the chief guest for the ceremony.

Addressing a meeting with leaders of the Kuruba community, the MLA called upon people from every village to participate in the event with enthusiasm. “Let women from each village take part in a traditional Kalasha procession and celebrate the unveiling of Kanakadasa’s statue in a festive atmosphere, showcasing our community’s heritage,” he said.

He also instructed organizers to invite district ministers, MPs, MLAs, and Kuruba community leaders to the event and prepare a detailed plan to ensure its success. The MLA urged everyone to work together from today to make the ceremony memorable.

During the meeting, Kuruba community representatives submitted several requests to the MLA. They appealed for handloom cards to be issued to all Kuruba weavers, RTC bus connectivity for Gundiganipalli village in Brahmasamudram mandal, and employment support for an orphaned youth from Rudrampalli village in Kundurpi mandal, whose parents had passed away due to heavy rains.

Responding positively, MLA Surendra Babu assured them that he would discuss these matters with the concerned officials and take appropriate action soon.
