The organization demanded immediate suspension and strict legal action against the public representative allegedly involved in a drug case, including filing criminal charges without any political protection.
Speaking at a press conference held at the APNGO office in Rayadurg, AIYF district president Kavali Kotresh expressed serious concern over the issue. He stated that it is highly unfortunate and against democratic values that public representatives, who are expected to be role models, are being linked to such illegal activities.
Kotresh highlighted that drug abuse is destroying the future of youth and posing a serious threat to society. He alleged that ganja gangs are targeting young people, making the situation increasingly alarming.
He questioned the stance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh, who often advise youth to stay away from drugs, while members of their own party are reportedly involved in such cases. He said the government must take moral responsibility for the situation.
AIYF demanded that the government take stringent measures to curb drug abuse and ensure that no political protection is given to those involved. They also called for a thorough investigation and transparency in revealing the facts to the public.
The organization stated that it will continue its statewide campaign against drugs and intensify awareness programs to keep youth away from narcotics.
Local leaders including constituency president Kumar, treasurer Nagayya, and members Gangadhar, Ashok, and Dinakar were present at the event.
